Frequently asked questions

Fourteen questions the desk gets every week, answered the way we would answer them on the phone. If yours is not here, call 909-859-9294.

Are you a freight broker or do you own trucks?
Mesa Line Freight Group is a licensed property broker based in Rialto, California. We do not own tractors or trailers. We arrange capacity with vetted motor carriers and stay accountable for the shipment from tender through delivery, including tracking, exceptions and claims. Our broker authority and surety bond information is available on request.
How do I get a quote?
Call the desk at 909-859-9294 during business hours, email press@agent.sriluxmitulasi.com, or use the rate request form on the contact page. Include origin and destination ZIP codes, pickup date, commodity, weight, pallet or piece count, equipment needed and any appointment requirements.
How quickly will I get a rate back?
Most spot quotes on standard van, reefer and drayage moves are returned within 60 minutes during desk hours. Flatbed, multi-stop, over-dimensional and permitted moves may take up to four hours because we price the actual route and permits rather than applying a formula.
What are your business hours?
The dispatch desk is staffed Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 7:00pm Pacific, and Saturday 7:00am to 1:00pm Pacific. Loads already in transit are covered outside those hours through the after-hours line given to active customers on their rate confirmation.
Do you require a contract or minimum volume?
No. Most shippers start with a single spot load. If a lane repeats we will put a simple written agreement in place covering rates, accessorials and service expectations, but there is no minimum volume and no long-term commitment required.
What are your payment terms?
Approved accounts are billed net-30 from the invoice date with the proof of delivery attached. New shippers typically begin on first-load prepayment or net-15 while a short credit review is completed. We accept ACH, business cheque and wire transfer. Card payment is available for expedited moves on request.
How is my freight tracked?
Where the carrier supports GPS or ELD sharing we push location updates on request. Where it does not, our dispatcher makes a morning check-call and a departure and arrival call, and passes anything material to you the same hour. You will always have the driver's name, cell number and truck details before pickup.
What insurance is in place on my shipment?
Every carrier we dispatch carries auto liability and motor truck cargo coverage, with certificates on file and naming requirements verified before the load. Mesa Line also maintains contingent cargo and general liability coverage. Standard cargo limits apply per load; if your freight value exceeds them, tell us at quoting and we will place it with a carrier carrying higher limits or arrange additional coverage.
How do you handle damaged or short freight?
Note the exception on the delivery receipt, photograph the freight before it moves, and email us the BOL, annotated POD and photos. We open the claim with the carrier's cargo insurer, usually within two business days, administer it in-house and keep you updated in writing until it is resolved. Full detail is in our Terms of Service.
Can you handle temperature-controlled freight?
Yes. Roughly a third of our volume is refrigerated. We confirm pre-cool and trailer washout, specify continuous run where the commodity requires it, set and document the temperature on the rate confirmation, and attach the reefer download to the proof of delivery.
Do you pull containers from the ports?
Yes. We dray from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and from the BNSF San Bernardino and UP ICTF ramps. We monitor last-free-day, book terminal appointments, source chassis, coordinate street turns and flag demurrage or per-diem exposure before it becomes a charge.
Do you ship to Canada or Mexico?
We arrange cross-border tenders through bonded partner carriers at Otay Mesa, Laredo and selected northern crossings, controlling the US-side pickup or delivery ourselves. Customs brokerage is handled by your broker or one we can introduce; we do not act as a customs broker.
What do you not haul?
We do not arrange transport of household goods moves, live animals, hazardous materials requiring placarded specialist carriers beyond limited-quantity shipments, firearms, cannabis, currency or freight requiring a licence we do not hold. If we cannot handle it properly we will tell you at quoting.
How do I become a carrier for Mesa Line?
Email your MC number, W-9, signed carrier packet and a certificate of insurance naming Mesa Line Freight Group to press@agent.sriluxmitulasi.com, or call the desk and ask for carrier relations. We review authority, insurance and safety history, then add approved carriers to the pool for lane offers.
